Simple daily routine

How much should I feed?

Use the guide as a straightforward starting point. Add the paste directly to your dog’s normal food and spread or mix it through the meal.

When introducing any new complementary feed, begin with a smaller amount for the first few days and build gradually to the normal daily guide.

A blunt butter knife or spreader makes the paste easy to measure and helps it stay with the meal.

Product and suitability

Choosing with confidence.

What type of dogs are the pastes suitable for?

They were developed with working and sporting dogs in mind, including spaniels, retrievers, HPR breeds and other active dogs. They may also suit older dogs or dogs whose normal routine would benefit from additional nutritional support.

Can older dogs have FieldStrength?

Yes. Many owners include a FieldStrength paste in an older dog’s daily routine. Original provides broad whole-dog support; Joint+ offers a more focused collagen-based option for joints and connective structures.

Can puppies have it?

Our current pastes were developed for adult dogs. Puppies and growing dogs have different nutritional requirements, so speak to your vet before adding any complementary feed to their diet.

Can it be fed with normal dog food?

Yes. FieldStrength is a complementary feed designed to be added to the dog’s normal diet. It does not replace a complete and balanced food.

Can it be used alongside another supplement?

Often, yes—but compare the ingredient lists first to avoid unnecessary duplication, especially of oils, joint ingredients and botanicals. If your dog receives medication or has a diagnosed condition, ask your vet before combining products.

Feeding and expectations

Consistency matters.

These are daily nutritional supplements—not instant fixes. Regular feeding gives you the clearest view of how your dog responds.

Why is it a paste rather than a powder or tablet?

The paste spreads or mixes through the normal meal, making it less likely to be left behind at the bottom of the bowl. It creates a simple routine and helps reduce waste.

My dog was unsure at first—is that normal?

Some dogs are cautious with any new taste or aroma. Begin with a small amount mixed thoroughly into familiar food, then increase gradually over several days.

When might I notice a difference?

Every dog is different, so we do not promise a fixed timescale. Owners commonly assess movement, recovery, coat and general condition over several weeks of consistent daily feeding rather than after one or two meals.

Will it upset my dog’s stomach?

The ingredients are generally well tolerated, but any dietary change can affect an individual dog. Introduce the paste gradually. If digestive upset persists, stop feeding it and seek veterinary advice.

Are the ingredients shown clearly?

Yes. We formulate and make the pastes ourselves and explain what is included and why. Full ingredient details for Original and Joint+ are available on the Ingredients page.

Looking after the paste

Storage and natural variation.

Natural oils respond to temperature. A change in firmness or a noticeable natural aroma does not automatically mean the paste is unsuitable.

How should I store it?

Keep the tub sealed, upright and in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and other heat sources. Once opened, use within five weeks and always check the best-before information on the pack.

What should I do when the weather is hot?

If a delivered tub feels warm, keep it upright and allow it to cool before opening. Refrigerating it briefly can help the oils firm up and reduces the chance of softened paste moving beneath the lid.

Why can the texture change?

The recipes contain natural oils and powdered ingredients. Warmth can soften the oils; cooler temperatures can make the paste firmer. This natural temperature response may alter appearance without changing the intended feeding routine.

Why does it have a noticeable aroma?

Original contains salmon oil and green-lipped mussel; Joint+ also contains green-lipped mussel. These ingredients have a natural aroma which many dogs find appealing.

Can the paste stain?

Yes. Both recipes contain turmeric, which can stain porous worktops, pale fabrics and carpets. Add the paste directly to the dog’s food and wipe the spreader and nearby surfaces promptly.

Safety and veterinary care

Support—not treatment.

Does FieldStrength replace veterinary treatment?

No. FieldStrength pastes are complementary feeds for nutritional support. They do not diagnose, treat or cure illness and should never replace veterinary examination, prescribed medication or an appropriate rehabilitation plan.

What if my dog is lame, in pain or suddenly moving differently?

New, persistent or worsening signs need veterinary assessment. Sudden lameness, significant pain, swelling, reluctance to bear weight or a marked change in behaviour should not be managed with a supplement alone.

What about allergies or sensitivities?

Check the full ingredient list before feeding. Original contains fish-derived salmon oil and mollusc-derived green-lipped mussel. Joint+ contains bovine collagen and green-lipped mussel. If your dog has a known food allergy or sensitivity, ask your vet before use.

Can I ask which paste best fits my dog?

Yes. Tell us your dog’s breed, age, approximate weight, normal workload and what you want to support. We will explain the difference between the formulas without overselling what they need.

Made by us. Tested properly. Explained honestly.

We do not claim to rebuild joints, cure conditions or replace veterinary care. We formulate complementary feeds to provide purposeful daily nutritional support—and we tell you clearly what they can and cannot do.
